Autism Social Media Fundraiser

While employed at Afia as a Healthcare Social Media Strategist, I wrote and executed the strategy for an autism school social media fundraiser.

The fundraiser had an overall goal of $75k, and at the crux of the fundraiser was a video that we produced and which was shared on various social media channels, with a link to a GoFundMe page. The fundraiser also included multiple in-person events, and ultimately culminated with exceeding the fundraising goal. The fundraiser was created to raise technology and equipment for the school’s non-verbal autistic children that would assist them in speaking. You can see the video we produced below.

  • Role: Healthcare Social Media Strategist at Afia

  • Project Launch: January 2015

  • Outcomes: Create awareness for the autism school, generate donations and funds (which resulted in over $75k raised)

  • I presented at the MHCA (Mental Health Corporations of America) annual conference in San Diego, CA about this project. You can see the presentation here.
